Portraits of children, family and weddings
It's often difficult to find the perfect photo of your family, however, even the most unpromising of photos can make an excellent portrait, with use of more appropriate colour and background. Children especially can be difficult to photograph, but a group portrait can easily be created from separate photos. You are welcome to ask for a no obligation quotation.
You can choose from a wide variety of sizes in an oil painting or pastel style, and your portrait can be either traditional or contemporary (which can be co-ordinated to your colour scheme) for a modern clip frame, or ready to print on stretched canvas.
Photographing the family
Portrait photography isn't easy, so here are a few tips. Your subject doesn't have to be looking into the camera, sometimes it's better if they are taken unawares - this is easier if you have a zoom lens so can stand back. Whatever you do, don't ask them to smile but rather, ask them to shout "knickers" or something similar.
Groups portraits can easily be achieved from separate photos, but if possible they should all have been taken in similar lighting conditions. Bright sunlight creates dark shadows that obscure detail, so if you're photographing outdoors on a very bright day, find some shade. Also see Tips for Taking Photos.
